Travel insurance is easy to buy and easy to buy badly. The cheap policy often excludes the thing that is most likely to happen on your particular trip: a missed connection, a pre-existing condition, adventure days, or a cancellation because a visa was refused.
What we read before you purchase
- Medical cover in the countries you will actually enter
- Cancellation reasons, including supplier failure
- Bags, delays, and the excess you would really pay
- Activities on the itinerary — a trek, a dive, a scooter
- Whether the people travelling are all named, including children
We explain it in plain language, then you decide. The point is a policy that matches the journey, not a certificate that looks reassuring and pays nothing.
